Indulging in a sweet treat doesn't have to mean sacrificing your health goals. In this blog post, we'll show you how to create a delightful no-sugar-added Kool-Aid pie with a protein boost that's sure to satisfy your cravings while keeping you on track with your dietary preferences. If you’re serving this to your kids, they’ll be excited when you tell them there’s Kool-Aid in it and you’ll feel good knowing that there’s no sugar added! In fact once slice of this pie has about 1/3 the amount of sugar as a single can of soda! With just a few simple ingredients and minimal prep time, you can whip up this delicious dessert that's perfect for any occasion. So, grab your prepackaged graham cracker pie crust and let's get started!

Gathering Your Ingredients Before you begin, make sure you have all the ingredients on hand:

  • 1 prepackaged graham cracker pie crust

  • 1 packet of Kool-Aid (we used black cherry flavor)

  • 1 8 oz container of frozen whipped topping (like Cool Whip)

  • 2 5-ounce containers of cherry Greek yogurt

Preparing the Filling

  1. Allow the frozen whipped topping to thaw slightly at room temperature.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the thawed whipped topping and the cherry Greek yogurt. Mix well until smooth and creamy.

  3. Add the contents of one packet of Kool-Aid to the whipped topping and yogurt mixture. Stir until the Kool-Aid powder is fully incorporated and the mixture is evenly colored. The Kool-Aid gives the pie a tart slightly sour flavor. If you’d prefer less, simply use half a packet.

  4. Once the filling is well mixed, pour it into the prepackaged graham cracker pie crust, spreading it evenly with a spatula.

  5. Cover the pie with the lid provided with the pie crust or with aluminum foil.

Chilling the Pie

  1. Place the assembled pie in the freezer and allow it to chill for at least one to two hours, or until the filling is firm.

  2. Keep an eye on the pie while it's in the freezer to ensure it doesn't freeze completely solid. You want it to be firm but still easy to slice. If that happens though don’t worry, just remove from the freezer and allow to thaw slightly before slicing. You can also freeze completely and thaw if prepping for a day or two ahead.

Serving the Pie

  1. Once the pie has chilled and the filling is firm, remove it from the freezer.

  2. Before serving, add a dollop of whipped cream on top of each slice for an extra touch of sweetness and creaminess.

  3. Slice the pie into wedges and serve immediately. Enjoy the refreshing and fruity flavor of this no-sugar-added Kool-Aid pie with a little protein boost!

  4. Each slice of this delightful pie contains only 13 grams of sugar, making it a guilt-free treat that you can enjoy without worrying about excessive sugar intake. So go ahead, savor every bite knowing that you're indulging in a healthier dessert option!
