This is such a simple keepsake that you’ll treasure for years to come. This activity is perfect for grade school and younger kids. I just made these little ghost footprints with all 4 of my children ranging from 5 months old to 8 years old.

Supplies Needed

  • Construction paper in assorted colors

  • White paint

  • Paintbrushes

  • 1 package of googly eyes

Steps

1.) Pick whatever color construction paper you want to use and have it nearby. Start painting your child’s foot, or if you don’t mind a bit of a mess let them do it themselves! Make sure to move quickly as the paint tends to dry rather fast. As soon as one foot is painted press it down in the middle of your construction paper. Tip - Make sure their toes are firmly pushed down; you may need to help a bit to ensure you get a nice imprint.

2.) Now repeat step 1 with the other foot. This way you have a cute pair of ghosts!

3.) Add two googly eyes to each painted on heal; this will be the ghosts head. If you move quickly, the eyes will easily adhere to the wet paint. If it has already dried a bit just add a tiny dab of paint to the back of the eyes and attach.

4.) Now paint on some fun details. I added each of my children’s names along with the year. Then, I wrote the word boo! You can do this step yourself or let your kids have some fun and decorate the ghost footprints any way they want.

These little footprint ghosts always turn out so cute. Now you just need to find a spot to display these little masterpieces!

If you’re looking for a keepsake handprint craft, try making some spiders! You’ll position the handprints sideways on your construction paper. After the first handprint is down, paint your next hand and press the palm down over the palm area of the last print. The palm area will become the spiders body and the fingers coming out of each side are the legs. You can paint on some really cute spiderwebs too!
