Lunchbox Back to School Hacks
Special thanks to Nature’s Own for sponsoring this post, all opinions are my own.
As a mom of 4 kids, 3 of whom are school aged, I’m always looking for ways to spice up the typical lunchbox meal. That being said, I don’t usually have a lot of time to do it though. I came up with these fun simple recipes using Nature’s Own Honey Wheat Bread and a few ingredients already in my pantry. In just a couple of minutes you can have a fun surprise in your kid’s lunchbox or turn a regular breakfast into a magical one!
I like that Nature’s Own Honey Wheat Bread is always fresh. It is made fresh and goes from scratch to shelf in about 48 hours making it the perfect base for the recipes I’m going to share. Did you know that Nature’s Own Honey Wheat is the #1 selling loaf bread brand in America? *Source: IRI Syndicated Data for the total U.S. latest 52 weeks ending 05.16.2021. My family and I love the taste and it contains no artificial preservatives, colors or flavors and has no high fructose corn syrup.
Hazelnut Sandwiches with Sprinkles
Whenever I surprise my kids with these simple, colorful sandwiches they are always a hit!
What you need:
Nature’s Own Honey Wheat Bread
Hazelnut Spread
Sprinkles
Melted Butter
1.) Spread hazelnut spread over two pieces of Nature’s Own Honey Wheat Bread.
2.) Cut off crust and slice diagonally.
3.) Coat sides with a bit of melted butter and dip into colorful sprinkles. If you prefer not to use butter you can simply coat the edges with extra hazelnut spread and then apply the sprinkles.
4.) You’re ready to pack these adorable little sandwiches in your child’s lunchbox!
Now just wait to hear all about it when they get home from school! My kids always are so excited when they find these sandwiches in their lunchbox and I can tell they feel ultra special. I feel good that I can make their day feel more special and like that it doesn’t take a ton of extra time!
Peanut Butter Toast with a Twist!
What you need:
Nature’s Own Honey Wheat Bread
Banana
mini cookie cutters
mini chocolate chips
1.) Toast Nature’s Own Honey Wheat Bread.
2.) Spread out your peanut butter, smooth works best.
3.) Slice your banana and use mini cookie cutters to cut out shapes. I used these adorable little bear and butterfly ones. TIP - If you’re packing these into a lunchbox and not serving immediately, you’ll want to dip the slices into some soda water to help prevent browning.
4.) Arrange your banana slices and sprinkle with mini chocolate chips.
This is such an easy way to transform simple toast into something a bit more magical! When my kids wake up to this, it always starts the day off right. Whatever kind of sandwich or toast you’re making, Nature’s Own Honey Wheat will pair perfectly!
Best of luck to all the busy parents with kids heading back to school this fall. I hope these simple lunchbox hacks with Nature’s Own inspire you to make back to school lunches a bit more fun!
